It is reported that Clop demanded ransom from Dacoll after launching a "phishing" attack in October that allowed it to access materials including PNC, which contained the personal information and records of 13 million people. When Dacoll refuses to pay, hackerHundreds of files were uploaded to the so-called "dark web" for publication.

The releases also include images of motorists, which Clop appears to have taken from the UK's National Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, and the videos include close-ups of the faces of drivers caught speeding. It's unclear what additional, possibly more sensitive, information Clop might post on the dark web that could be stolen by fraudsters.
